GLEN CARBON, Ill., Aug. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Residents of Glen Carbon, Edwardsville and surrounding communities will get the opportunity to see their new Sam's Club when it opens Thursday, Aug. 29, at 8:30 a.m. at 5 Illini Drive in Glen Carbon. The club will provide members with numerous services and savings on quality merchandise.

Grand-Opening Event to Include Special Offers
The grand opening ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. on Aug. 29. Numerous dignitaries will be in attendance, along with the 160 Sam's Club associates.

Opening just in time for Labor Day, the club will be stocked with all the items members need for their celebrations. St. Louis sports fans will immediately notice the vast electronics department featuring the biggest and best in high-definition televisions.

Busy parents and those who love to cook will find an expansive array of everyday needs including fresh produce, quality meats and home meal solutions, while office supplies, vending machine snacks and paper goods prepare small business members for success. Additional benefits for small business owners include early shopping hours, personal shopping through Click 'n' Pull^®, truckload savings and access to quality items most often used by foodservice businesses, restaurant owners and caterers.

Pharmacy and Hearing Center Among Amenities
The Glen Carbon club will have a full-service pharmacy where members and the public can take advantage of savings on medications they use every day.

The Sam's Club pharmacy features $4 and $10 generic prescriptions as well as savings on branded prescriptions. The new club will also debut a Sam's Club Hearing Aid Center, offering premium technology in hearing aid and personal listening devices alongside the care of a certified audiologist.

The new Glen Carbon Sam's Club brings new jobs with career opportunities to Glen Carbon and Edwardsville, employing approximately 160 associates.

Poole began his career with Sam's Club nearly 18 years ago as an hourly associate. He was most recently Club Manager at Sam's Club in Marion, Ill.
