New Shopping Center Coming to Abilene

ABILENE, Texas, May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Prestige Development Group (PDG, Inc.), a national commercial retail developer, is slated to break ground this spring on the largest shopping center to come to Abilene in the last decade. The Shops at Abilene Village, a 171,027 square-foot ground up shopping center to be located at 3550 S Clack Street, is a mixture of restaurant, small retail, and anchor retail with an added accessibility feature for existing area retail.

The tenant line-up includes 144,682 square feet of preleased space, bringing in several highly demanded tenants: Academy Sports + Outdoors, Burlington Stores, Petco and several others. Academy Sports + Outdoors is relocating from a 50,000 square foot location to 72,000 square feet to satisfy a growing customer demand. Burlington Stores, a national off-price retailer offering brand name merchandise at everyday low prices will open a 40,000 square foot location, its 67th store in the state of Texas, but its first location in the Abilene market. Petco will also be joining the mix of retailers with a 14,000 square foot store.

Located off of the highly travelled Winters Freeway, the center will be replacing the McGavock Nissan Dealership near two of the cities' main shopping hubs: Abilene Mall and The Shops of Abilene. PDG, Inc. and its associates have worked with the City of Abilene over the last year to feature a bridge to accommodate shoppers navigating between The Shops of Abilene and The Shops at Abilene Village. The addition of this center to the current retail landscape further cements this area as the premiere destination shopping space of Abilene. Retailers and restaurants are expected to bring in anywhere from 60-100 jobs to the market, while PDG, Inc. and its affiliates will be creating several hundreds of jobs during the course of construction over the next year.

The Shops at Abilene Village center has been 18-months in the making and is one of four centers PDG, Inc. is currently developing in Texas. PDG, Inc. is a high volume developer specializing in several restaurant, retail, and medical property developments nationwide.

The Shops at Abilene Village is scheduled to break ground Spring 2017 and open in 2018.
