New Survey Reveals Majority of Americans Suffer From "FOMO" and are Not Living Life to the Fullest This Summer Due to Concerns About Joint Comfort

When faced with an opportunity to enjoy quality time with their children or grandchildren, the majority of those surveyed would rather forgo the activity entirely instead of facing the looming joint issues including stiffness and flair-ups. Approximately 73% of Americans ages 50+ who experience issues with joint comfort have admitted to skipping an outing or activity because they are concerned about their discomfort.
During a time where Americans are looking to bask in warmer summer weather and resume their favorite family activities, such as bike rides, weekend trips to the beach or running around the playground with grandchildren, more and more 50+ Americans have to skip out on these activities – leading to the dreaded FOMO feeling.

In fact, as a direct result of their joint discomfort, 57% of 50+ sufferers believed they could no longer enjoy all the activities they used to and nearly half (48%) were worried about missing out on important life moments.
Family Time Pays the Price
With the end of the school year quickly approaching, parents and grandparents look forward to having more time to spend with their kids and grandkids. However, many Americans 50+ find that joint discomfort can limit the time they wish to enjoy with their families, as 56% of sufferers reported that they can only play with kids or grandkids for 30 minutes or less. A few wrinkles may come with the territory of aging, however having to limit activities with loved ones should not. In fact, joint discomfort was found to be the #1 sign of aging that Americans 50+ complained about most often with their friends, and 81% of the Americans surveyed felt more anxious about changes in their lifestyle than changes in their appearance.
Methodology
The Osteo Bi-Flex survey was conducted by Wakefield Research (www.wakefieldresearch.com) among 1,000 nationally representative U.S. adults ages 50+ between March 30, 2017 and April 5, 2017, using an email invitation and an online survey. The margin of error for the survey was +/- 3.1 percentage points.
