New Timex + Todd Snyder Collaboration To Launch At NYFW Men's

NEW YORK, Feb. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 4, 2019, Timex and Todd Snyder will unveil their latest collaborative watch design, the Mid Century, during the Todd Snyder runway show at New York Fashion Week Men's. The longstanding partnership between Timex and Todd Snyder stands out in a crowded watch market as both stylish and attainable, making it easy for discerning men to curate a watch collection to fit every look and mood. The duo's latest release pulls inspiration from a 1977 classic Timex original, updated for modern wear and year-round versatility. This year marks 165 years of craftsmanship and true, innovative watchmaking for Timex, with the Mid Century bringing to life a piece of that heritage.

While most watches in the Todd Snyder + Timex collaboration are hand-picked from the Timex archives, the inspiration for the Mid Century was spotted out in the wild.

"I was traveling in Europe and had a meeting with someone from the Timex team, and he was wearing the coolest old Timex with a day/date feature," says Snyder. "I liked it so much I took it right off his wrist and used it as the starting point for the Mid Century. This watch is definitely one of my personal favorites."

The Todd Snyder + Timex Mid Century timepiece is packed with vintage inspired character and functional features at a suggested retail price of $158. While the original was an automatic with chrome plated bezel, the new version is upgraded with a stainless-steel case and day/date quartz movement for improved accuracy. It's styled with a handsome leather strap from S.B. Foot Tanning Co. in Red Wing, Minnesota (the same premium leather used in Snyder's go-to Red Wing boots and shoes), detailed with distinctive contrast stitching. The Mid Century is crafted with the same domed acrylic crystal as the original, for an iconic timepiece that evokes the past while meeting today's exacting standards.
