Weber's Time to Grill teaches that grilling quickly-prepped, delicious and impressive meals doesn't need to be complicated—nor do they need to sacrifice on flavor.
The 200-plus recipes are paired in two-page, mouthwatering spreads—photographed by James Beard Award winning photographer Tim Turner—using a common set of easy-to-find supermarket ingredients. "Easy" recipes are on the left with most prep times only 15 minutes or under; "adventurous" recipes are on the right with most prep times about 30 minutes. For example, Purviance does an easy recipe for New York strip steaks which are topped with a colorful, juicy vinaigrette of chopped tomatoes and blue cheese; he then creates a more adventurous counterpart that uses tomatoes to marinate the steaks, and blue cheese is distinctly featured for a creamy Gorgonzola sauce.

"There's never been a grilling cookbook like Weber's Time to Grill, with such clear choices based on the amount of time you want to spend making a meal," said the classically trained chef Purviance. "It's the only place you will find, for example, a barbecue classic such as slow-cooked ribs, right beside a version that takes half the time ribs normally require."
With the cookbook's purchase, its recipes photos can be found on the exclusive timetogrill.mobi site by a keyword, category or page number search. Recipe ingredients can be downloaded to a mobile grocery list. The mobi site also includes a grill timer that can be set for any recipe or any food listed in the book's Grilling (doneness) Guides, and notes can be conveniently added to favorite recipes. (Want more soy sauce than the original recipe calls for? Adjust the recipe on "My Account" to add more next time).
While main courses in red meat, pork, poultry and seafood are well covered, Purviance has made chapters for appetizers, vegetables, desserts—and even eggs. For example, an easy Cinnamon French Toast grilling recipe is paired with a more adventurous Stuffed Brioche French Toast.
The front part of Weber's Time to Grill is loaded with tips and illustrative photos on topics such as stocking your pantry for strategic grilling; "must-have" grilling tools; a clever "Prep School" section for readying various foods for cooking; an educational "Knives" overview; and using a gas versus a charcoal grill. Notably, this section also has recipes for rubs, sauces, marinades and dressings.
At 304 pages, Weber's Time to Grill: Get In. Get Out. Get Grilling by Jamie Purviance retails for $24.95 U.S. (MSRP) and is available wherever books are sold, including home centers, merchandisers, supermarkets and online.
