NEW YORK, Nov. 20. 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Rolling Stone is reporting that long-time lead singer of the world famous group U2 was in a bicycle accident while riding in New York's Central Park (Bono Treated With Metal Plates, 'Intensive Therapy' After Bike Injury, November 19, 2014). Bono allegedly was attempting to avoid another rider when he was involved in what doctors are calling a "high energy bicycle accident." Bono was taken to the New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornel Medical Center's Emergency Department and is said to have undergone several x-rays, scans, and 5 hours of surgery.
Bono's injuries are being reported as serious, including a facial fracture involving the orbit of his eye, three fractures of his shoulder blade, and a fracture of the left humerus bone in his upper arm, which was repotederly shattered in six places and tore through his skin. According to doctors, Bono was required to have nerves moved and several screws put in, but with intensive and progressive therapy, the U2 singer is expexcte to make a full recovery. U2 and Bono are postponing their week-long planned residency on the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Adnan Munawar, Partner at Munawar & Andrews-Santillo LLP, said the following upon hearing of Bono's Accident, "First of all, we wish the singer a healthy and full recovery—he suffered some serious injuries, but fortunately he was able to receive medical attention quickly and is reportedly going to be OK. Many people might not realize just how dangerous riding a bicycle can be, but the serious injuries Bono suffered here should cause everyone to exercise a bit more caution next time they ride. "
"The reality is that no matter how safe we are, there will almost certainly be accidents, and it is just as important to know what to do if you are in an accident than it is to know how to avoid them. Someone of Bono's means and statute, physical and mental suffering aside, should have no problem receiving the best medical and legal assistance there is, but for the majority of us, we might not feel so certain. The good news is that while you might not be able to afford your medical expenses out of pocket, you can afford to hire an attorney to hold the person who caused your injuries accountable and to get the compensation you need and deserve. While you recover, let an expert work hard for you—the consultation is free, and you only ever pay a fee is you win. Don't miss out on getting your compensation as quickly and efficiently as possible. Call an attorney right away if you are injured."
