New York City's Food Trucks to Fight Extreme Hunger on World Food Day; 5% of October 16th Sales to Support Concern Worldwide's Food and Nutrition Programs

NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On World Food Day, October 16^th, New York City's food trucks are donating 5 percent of their sales to help international humanitarian organization Concern Worldwide fight extreme hunger and malnutrition.

"We are excited to be partnering with Concern Worldwide on World Food Day in this effort to raise awareness and money to tackle extreme hunger in the world's poorest countries," said David Weber, President of the NYC Food Truck Association.

Participating trucks include: Gorilla Cheese NYC (@gcnyc1), Chinese Mirch (@ChineseMirch), Milk Truck (@milktrucknyc), Toum (@ToumNYC), Valducci's Pizza (@valduccis), Phil's Steaks (@PhilSteaks), Snap (@SnapTruck), Mexico Blvd (@MexicoBlvd), Red Hook Lobster (@Redhooklobster), Nuchas (@NuchasNYC), Souvlaki GR (@SouvlakiTruck), Shorty's on Wheels (@ShortysNYC), and Mexicue (@Mexicue).

Five percent of participating food trucks' sales on World Food Day, October 16^th, will specifically support the Concern for Hunger campaign, a movement against extreme hunger that Concern launched last month with award-winning actress Toni Collette. All donations to Concern for Hunger support Concern's programs that treat and prevent malnutrition in the world's poorest countries.
