Fathead Becomes the Team's First Presenting Sponsor
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Oct. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York Jets have announced the Jets Flag Elite rosters for the 2025-26 season and the start of the first ever Jets Flag Elite 14U travel team, which will begin play this fall. Additionally, both teams welcome a presenting partner – Fathead – for the first time.
As part of the partnership, Fathead will cover travel expenses to tournaments for Jets Flag Elite, including flights and hotels. The goal of the partnership is to significantly reduce or eliminate travel expenses for Jets Flag Elite players and their families. The Jets will continue to cover the cost of coaches, equipment, training facility space, tryouts, and tournament fees, eliminating nearly all costs for the girls to play. Additionally, Fathead will make Big Heads of all players on the team to help fans cheer on the squad at all the tournaments throughout the country.
"We are excited to announce Fathead as the first presenting partner of Jets Flag Elite," said Jeff Fernandez, Jets Senior Vice President, Business Development + Ventures. "This is a landmark partnership for not only the organization, but for girls' flag football in general. The Jets are committed to finding unique ways to grow the sport of girls' flag football and by partnering with Fathead, Jets Flag Elite will be able to give our young athletes one-of-a-kind experiences that they would not be able to partake in elsewhere."
"As a former college athlete, I know firsthand the transformative power of sport to build grit, identity, and community," said Jen Beaver, Chief Partnership Officer. "Fathead is committed to supporting and growing the continued rise in women's sports overall. For us, being part of this program is about investing in future leaders who are excelling both on and off the field."
Jets Flag Elite's mission is to support, elevate, and empower girls' flag football by giving these young athletes the opportunity to connect with the Jets team and experience football at a more professional level. The resources provided will develop girls flag football at the elite level, provide pathways to college scholarships, and support opportunities for the USA National team as girls flag becomes an Olympic Sport in 2028.
JETS FLAG ELITE GEARS UP FOR SECOND SEASON
Entering its second season, Jets Flag Elite will feature top players from the northeast, competing in the high school and now 14U divisions for 5-on-5 flag football tournaments at the local, regional, and national levels.
Ridgewood High School Girls Flag Head Coach Mickey McDermott will return as the head coach of Jets Flag Elite High School team. Coach McDermott led the group to a We Run the World: Philadelphia tournament win last season, on top of his third straight New Jersey High School Flag Football Championships as the head coach of Ridgewood High School. Victoria Burgarella, the head coach of Xavierian High School's flag football team, will continue to serve as the team's assistant coach.
Jets Flag Elite 14U will be led by Head Coach Jesse Marrow and assisted by Kyle Slivla-Fralin and Alisa Harrison. With over 15 years of experience in flag football, Marrow began his coaching journey with the Lady Supreme Women's Team. Today, Coach Marrow leads three competitive programs: the Team USA 15U Boys Flag Football Team, the UConn Club Flag Football Team, and has a continued role with Lady Supreme.
Jets Flag Elite will begin play at the Halloween Horror tournament on October 11. The tournament will take place in Windsor, CT.

The Jets support for Girls Flag Football began in 2011 with the launch of a league with Public School Athletic League (PSAL) in New York City, becoming the first NFL Club to help launch Girls Flag Football at the varsity level. A decade later, in 2021, the Jets and Nike launched the first High School Girls Flag Football League in New Jersey, supported by Gatorade and Visa. Launched with the intention of providing girls an equitable opportunity to play football compared to their male counterpart, the long-term goal of the Jets support was to have the sport adopted as an official high school statewide championship sport, which officially came to fruition last spring in 2024 for both New York and is imminent for New Jersey.
