New York Robotics to Host Hands-On Developer Workshop Focused on Physical AI and Robotics
November workshop will connect New York's robotics developer community with Intel engineers, robotics technologies and developer resources to explore the development and deployment of Physical AI systems.
NEW YORK, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- New York Robotics (NYR) today announced plans to host a hands-on developer workshop on November 3 at Civic Hall in New York City, bringing together robotics developers, technical founders, engineers and ecosystem partners to explore the technologies enabling the next generation of Physical AI and robotics systems.
As a member of the New York Robotics community, Intel supports programs that connect robotics developers while helping advance robotics innovation. As a part of this commitment, the workshop will offer participants real-life experience working directly with Intel-based robotics systems as well as Intel engineers and technical experts who will provide guidance on hardware, software and developer resources for building AI-enabled robotics applications.
As robotics systems become more intelligent and autonomous, developers are addressing increasingly complex requirements spanning AI inference, perception, sensor processing, workload consolidation, real-time control and scalable edge compute. The workshop is designed to provide practical exposure to technologies and resources developers can use as they move robotics applications from development and experimentation toward real-world deployment.
Participants can also expect a developer-focused program covering areas such as Physical AI, robotics workloads, AI inference and software-defined robotics. Hands-on sessions will provide opportunities to work with preconfigured robotics systems, explore technical use cases, ask questions of Intel engineers and provide direct feedback on the tools and resources needed to support robotics development.
The event will also showcase select robotics solutions from ecosystem partners, giving attendees an opportunity to explore how robotics technologies can move from development platforms toward broader deployment.
"We're excited to have Intel as part of the New York Robotics community and to bring this hands-on technical program to our members," said Randy Howie, Acting Executive Director of New York Robotics. "Our community includes founders, developers and engineers working across a wide range of robotics applications. Connecting them directly with technology providers, technical expertise and ecosystem partners creates opportunities to exchange ideas, solve development challenges and help move robotics innovation forward."
"Robotics innovation happens when developers have the opportunity to experiment, collaborate and turn ideas into systems that work in the real world," said Nagesh Puppala, general manager of robotics at Intel. "By working with communities like New York Robotics, we can engage directly with developers, learn from the challenges they are solving and connect them with the technologies and ecosystem resources that can help move their ideas forward."

New Leadership for New York Robotics
Alongside the workshop announcement, New York Robotics named Randy Howie, co-founder and Founding Board Member, as Acting Executive Director.
Howie succeeds Jacob Hennessy-Rubin, who led the organization for five years, and decided to join one of the fast-growing robotics startups in the New York's ecosystem Hennessy-Rubin will remain on the New York Robotics Board. "New York Robotics has entered a new stage of growth, and the November 2 workshop is a clear signal of where we're headed," said Howie.
"We're grateful to Jacob for five years of work building this organization and this community. Now we build on it — with a renewed focus on putting the extraordinary assets of partners like Intel behind our members: 180+ startups across the tri-state region and more than 500 worldwide."
