New Zealand Brings Its Global "Game Plan" to the 2011 BIO International Convention

WASHINGTON, June 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- With a 150 year expertise in the genetic improvement of animals and plants, world-class research institutions, and a globally focused outlook, New Zealand's biotech industry is well positioned as a source of innovative science, technologies and products. Led by industry organization NZBIO and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, more than 26 New Zealand companies are showcasing their capabilities in human health care, animal husbandry, plant and food research, research technologies and more this week at the 2011 BIO International Convention: The Global Event for Biotechnology held June 27-30, 2011 in Washington, DC. Ranked by the World Bank in 2010 as one of the best countries in which to do business, New Zealand is reaching out at BIO to partner with leading U.S. and international companies and research institutions.

NZBIO will host a pavilion in the 2011 BIO International Convention Exhibition Hall showcasing a variety of New Zealand companies and research institutions in the areas of human medicine, agricultural biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, biomaterials, and other areas. The pavilion will include a meeting area for networking and one-on-one meetings during the conference. New Zealand will also co-host with Australia a joint wine tasting and networking event on Tuesday June 28 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, featuring fine wines from both nations. The New Zealand Pavilion is located at Booth 2743, Hall B, of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
