Basile, who has hosted 'America Right Now' on Newsmax since 2020, has earned a reputation as a powerful voice in the national conversation on faith, politics and policy. During his two-decades-plus career he's been in the middle of some of the most pressing stories, covering presidential campaigns, COVID-19, three presidential inaugurations, and other major breaking news events. Along with his anchor duties, Basile is also a long-standing opinion columnist for The Washington Times and a contributor to the Daily Caller. He was a columnist for Forbes from 2012-2018 and hosted Sunday in America along with a range of other programming on SiriusXM until his transition to television. Before entering the media landscape, Basile served in government at the local, state and federal levels, including in the administration of President George W. Bush and as an elected official. He received the Joint Civilian Service Commendation from the U.S. Department of Defense for his work in Iraq from 2003-2004. In 2011, he was one of only two American conservatives featured in Time Magazine's Person of the Year spread about citizen engagement around the world. 

In 2008 he was invested into the Roman Catholic Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, where he holds the rank of Knight Commander with Star and is also a member of the Knights of Columbus. In 2026, he will be a recipient of the Animas Award from the Salesians of Don Bosco at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in New York.
