NextLabs Releases Enterprise Digital Rights Management 8.0 for Siemens Teamcenter
Secure documents of any file type - even 2D & 3D CAD - to share with the extended enterprise
SAN MATEO, Calif., June 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- NextLabs, the leading provider of data security solutions for Information Risk Management, announced the new release 8.0 of the Enterprise Digital Rights Management product with built in support for Teamcenter. This release offers advanced capabilities to allow users to systematically add Enterprise Digital Rights Management (EDRM) protection to file-based data, enhancing Teamcenters robust security capabilities. Customers can securely share their valuable intellectual property with their extended collaboration network without the risk of compromise. The release also offers the ability to securely access information via a web browser which enables users to seamlessly collaborate, without installing software, with their mobile workforce, partners, and customers. NextLabs' XACML standards-based solution provides advanced protection for sensitive information that needs to be shared in Teamcenter and across the extended enterprise.
The new Digital Rights Management solution allows Teamcenter customers to leverage their data classification for the automated tagging and protection feature in NextLabs. This tight Teamcenter integration provides access and usage controls for seamless and real-time global sharing of valuable Intellectual Property. The integration also supports native Siemens formats such as PRT and JT, as well as other formats, including data in 2D & 3D CAD, source code, DWG, GIF, JPEG, Adobe and Microsoft Office documents. Users now have seamless access to rich collaboration capabilities within native applications.
Siemens and NextLabs have partnered to enable enhanced safeguarding of information inside and outside of Teamcenter. Sharing sensitive information globally with employees and partners is now a prerequisite for large corporations and the new release of NextLabs takes the partnership and the ability to collaborate outside of the enterprise to the next level.
Benefits of the solution include:
- Safeguard information sharing in Teamcenter with external suppliers, partners and mobile workforce
- Protect data shared in public cloud and SaaS applications
- Rich collaboration and editing in native applications, including automatic termination
- Leverages Teamcenter metadata for automated tagging and seamless access of valuable IP
- Zero client install enables rapid deployment and mobile workforce access with little administration
The ability to apply Digital Rights protection automatically across key information sources and stores, taking the burden of securing information away from end-users, is critical for companies to ensure data security at the source. NextLabs is committed to continually innovating to provide the best data security products to help companies combat the constant threat of security breach and enable secure information sharing – from outside and inside the organization.
"Customers need to collaborate globally on all aspects of the product development lifecycle," said David Riemer, VP Aerospace & Design, Siemens. "Enterprise Digital Rights Management is the most effective technology to secure critical documents that must be shared across global engineering and design operations. NextLabs is the only EDRM solution that is tightly integrated with Teamcenter. A single security and access model in Teamcenter in conjunction with NextLabs provides protection for information both while working in Teamcenter and for data exported out of Teamcenter. We view this as a high value unique capability that will benefit our customers."
"NextLabs and Siemens have worked together to help Teamcenter customers drive product innovation through secure collaboration. Our information security solutions are widely used by Siemens customers and other Fortune 100 corporations to protect data and safeguard information sharing," said Keng Lim, CEO of NextLabs.
