Nikhil Barvé Appointed as Head of Outwards Reinsurance and Underwriting Supervision
LONDON, Sept. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hamilton Underwriting Limited, the managing agency of Syndicate 3334 and the Lloyd's operations of Hamilton Insurance Group, today announced that Nikhil Barvé has joined the company as Head of Outwards Reinsurance and Underwriting Supervision.
Mr. Barvé reports to Hamilton Underwriting Limited's Chief Executive Officer Dermot O'Donohoe and Active Underwriter and Head of Treaty Trevor Carvey. He took up his position on August 29, 2017.

Well-known in the reinsurance market, Mr. Barvé has worked overseas and in London in a career that has spanned more than 30 years as Underwriting Manager, Reinsurance Underwriter and Ceded Reinsurance Manager within several different regulatory environments including Bermuda. He joins Hamilton from Markel International where he was Underwriting Manager, Wholesale. His responsibilities included development and oversight of overseas platforms.
Mr. Barvé previously served with International General Insurance Company, where he was a treaty underwriter, most recently focusing on the creation of a London subsidiary, IGI UK. From 2002 to 2007, he was based in Bermuda combining underwriting treaty business and outwards reinsurance placement. In addition, he was part of an executive management team responsible for run-off management.
Prior to Bermuda, Mr. Barvé was active in treaty reinsurance underwriting and ceded reinsurance in the Lloyd's marketplace.
Mr. Barvé holds a diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom.
