"In order to achieve R3:JLB's mission of helping our clients improve the value and productivity of their agency relationships, we have always wanted to offer a creative consulting component to our services," said Dave Beals, R3:JLB CEO. "But we needed a creative leader with a stellar reputation and one who is an unquestioned client advocate. We were waiting for Nina."
DiSesa's Creative Management Series of workshops, seminars and lectures is designed to help marketers get the most out of their agency relationships by better understanding and managing their creative resources.
"Creativity is like love and respect," DiSesa says. "You can't force anyone to give it to you. It has to come honestly and passionately from within. Marketers need a better understanding of the pivotal role they themselves play in getting more respect and better creative work from their agency partners."
DiSesa's experience puts her in a unique position to give marketers a valuable look inside the agency creative department structure and process. She's designed customized programs and exercises that will allow marketers to walk in a creative person's shoes, understand how to give winning feedback on creative ideas and work, and gain techniques for addressing real-world problems in the agency/client relationship.
"One of the biggest challenges marketers face is managing their creative agency and getting the most from the creative people they depend on," says DiSesa. "The reality is that it's not that hard if you understand a creative person's hot buttons and how to push them."
About Nina DiSesa
DiSesa was one of McCann's most successful creative leaders. She helped bring in over $2.5 billion in new business to the New York office over a three-year period and helped the agency win "Agency of the Year" honors from Adweek and Ad Age. She was named Chairman in 1998 and was the first creative director to be given that title in the McCann Worldgroup system.
In 1999, Nina was named one of Fortune Magazine's 50 Most Powerful Women in American Business. In 2008, she wrote a best-selling business book, "Seducing the Boys Club," published by Random House. It covers the lessons she learned about managing the unmanageable—men specifically—over her 30-year career in advertising at agencies including McCann Erickson, Young & Rubicam and J. Walter Thompson.
Nina retired from the agency business in December 2010.
