Ninth Annual Ricebird Classic Golf Tournament To Raise Funds For Westland Youth Group Mission Camp

HOUSTON, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the past 9 years, Donna Ermis, along with her children, Brandon and Brent, have helped raise money through the Westland Baptist Church in memory of her husband Don Ermis, to send a group of local Houston youths on a mission trip. They chose the best way to honor Don, by creating the Ricebird Classic Golf Tournament, as Don was an avid player and loved the game.

This year, the Terry Bryant Accident & Injury Law Office will sponsor the event on Sunday, March 22, at the River Ridge Golf Course in Houston. Last year, there were over 100 participants that covered expenses for a trip to the Navajo Nation Community in Whiteriver, Arizona. This year, the proceeds will benefit the Westland Baptist Church Youth Group who will go to the Apache Nation. With over 4,200 residents, Whiteriver is the largest community on the White Mountain Apache Reservation. The youth group will be comprised of 40 adults and children who will distribute clothing, beautify residential neighborhoods and parks, and help with minor repairs and paint jobs.

"This is such a rewarding cause on several levels," states Terry Bryant. "Not only are we teaching kids in the Youth Group about how to give to others, but the Apache community will benefit greatly from all of the assistance."

Participants of the Golf Classic can play individually, or become corporate sponsors themselves. There are several levels of sponsorship opportunities, from $300 as a Hole Sponsor up to $3000 as a Platinum Sponsor. For those interested in signing up as a team, the deadline is March 8^th. There will be door prizes and "Ricebird Classic" polos distributed to all participants.
