Nissan Announces Senior Leadership Change for Mexico

FRANKLIN, Tenn., March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissan Americas today announced that, effective April 1, Jose Valls will join the company as regional vice president, Commercial, Nissan Mexicana. In his new assignment, Valls will report to Jose Munoz, president and general director, Nissan Mexicana, and be responsible for the company's commercial activities in Mexico.

Valls will oversee the company's ongoing efforts to increase its presence in Mexico, where it currently holds the market-leader position with more than 23 percent share. He joins Nissan after 10 years with General Motors in Mexico and Latin America where, in his most recent assignment, he was responsible for sales operations, fleet and commercial, distribution, dealer development, product development and portfolio management.

Valls holds a bachelor's degree in public accounting from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Santa Maria in Argentina and a master's degree in management from the University of California-Berkeley. He succeeds Tom Scarpello, who has been appointed general manager, Global Marketing Communications and Global CMM, Infiniti Business Unit, based in Japan.
