No More Tears Hosting Happy Hour for a Cause in Honor of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month
WESTON, Fla., Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- January marks the beginning of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. To raise awareness for these terrible crimes, No More Tears will host a happy hour fundraiser on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza (4527 Weston Road, Weston, FL 33331).
"With Miami ranking 3rd in the nation for human and sex trafficking cases, we are at ground zero," said Somy Ali, founder of No More Tears. "I believe the more we educate people and raise awareness for these unthinkable crimes, the closer we will come to stopping it once and for all."
The cost to attend No More Tears' Happy Hour for a Cause is $30 per person and includes a glass of wine and a delicious personal pizza. To register, visit http://bit.ly/NMTHappyHour. In addition to the happy hour, Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Weston will be donating 20% of its sales on January 30, 2018, to No More Tears. To participate, dine in at Anthony's for lunch or dinner and mention No More Tears to your server.
"No More Tears is a unique nonprofit – 100% of the donations we raise go directly to survivor support programs and services," said Ali. "I do not take a salary and the men and women who work alongside of me volunteer their time and support to answer the 25 to 30 second-responder calls we receive each day."
Now in its 11th year, No More Tears is a nonprofit organization founded by former Bollywood actress Somy Ali. A survivor of abuse herself, Ali and her volunteers have helped nearly 6,000 survivors start a new life, one free from abuse. From medical care, to legal services, English-language lessons and educational assistance, No More Tears works to not only rescue victims of abuse, but help them begin a new life as well.
