The numbers on hunger in America are staggering. The basic essential of life and living is food. Some of us take for granted that evening dinner or eggs and bacon in the morning. Here are some estimates on hunger in our country, America. You may want to sit down - these numbers are awful:

In 2014, 48.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households, including 32.8 million adults and 15.3 million children. 14 percent of households (17.4 million households) were food insecure. 6 percent of households (6.9 million households) experienced very low food security. 

In a country as wealthy as ours, these numbers are deplorable.
