Nok Nok Labs Makes Adoption of FIDO Protocol Easier and Achieves Updated FIDO Certification

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Nok Nok Labs, an innovator in modern authentication and a founding member of the FIDO Alliance, today announced the availability of an update to its S3 Authentication Suite adding two software development kits (SDKs) that simplifies the adoption and integration the FIDO Universal Authentication Framework (UAF) protocol. The introduction of the new SDKs for both Android and iOS allows businesses to deploy FIDO authentication even on devices that do not have a native FIDO stack, making the delivery of FIDO UAF authentication to customers even easier. This now allows more than 1.2 billion smartphones in the market today to become 'FIDO-enabled.'

The S3 Authentication Suite has also completed the new FIDO Certified^TM testing program, which ensures compliance with the FIDO UAF specification and interoperability with other FIDO Certified solutions.  This update to the S3 Authentication Suite means that users will be able to use simple methods of verification, such as biometrics or passcodes, to strongly authenticate to a range of online services. Existing customers of the S3 suite include PayPal, Alipay and NTT DOCOMO.

These benefits reduce the time to market challenge for security vendors looking to introduce FIDO capabilities to their products and is available via the Nok Nok^TM Partner Program.
• The Nok Nok^TM Authentication Server 3.0 is a next-generation authentication framework designed for modern enterprises, users, devices and applications. All of the products above participated in the first FIDO Certification Testing Program for the FIDO UAF 1.0 specifications in San Jose, CA on April 29-30, 2015 and achieved FIDO Certified status.
