Nomura Officially Opens Americas Headquarters at Worldwide Plaza, New York City

NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Nomura, Asia's global investment bank, has officially opened its Americas headquarters located at Worldwide Plaza in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.

The grand opening ceremony was attended by a range of Nomura's key clients and business partners.  Guests of honor included The Honorable Eliot Engel, Representative from the State of New York, and Ambassador Sumio Kusaka, Consul-General of Japan in New York.

Nomura signed a 20 year lease and has relocated over 2,000 employees to Manhattan's Midtown West neighborhood.  The firm occupies 16 floors within Worldwide Plaza, one of New York's most iconic buildings.

Shortly after its relocation to Midtown Manhattan, Nomura confirmed a community partnership with Everybody Wins!, an organization which promotes children's literacy through shared reading and mentoring experiences with adults.  Everybody Wins! partners with community volunteers to increase the academic and life prospects for underserved children throughout the New York metropolitan area.  A selection of volunteers from Nomura will pair with children in a nearby public elementary school for weekly reading and mentoring sessions during lunchtime.
