Along with chip card (EMV) usage, semi-Integrated solutions enhance and further protect credit card transactions. With the migration away from swipe cards, EMV chip cards create authenticated and unique transaction data, so fraud is less likely to occur. PCI DSS is a stringent security standard that governs how organizations must protect the credit card data they have in their possession. Even small merchants are subject to the PCI DSS. Non-compliance can mean fines that are passed along from the major processors to the individual credit card-accepting merchants.
