NAPERVILLE, Ill., Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Earning a master's degree not only increases your potential for future earnings, but also makes you a more valuable and promotable business professional. With that in mind, North Central College has recently launched new master's degrees in financial management and human resource management, and reimagined its master's of business administration.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment from 2016 to 2026 is expected to increase 19 percent for financial managers; 9 percent for human resource managers; and 8 percent for those in business management occupations.
An advisory board of industry leaders collaborated with North Central faculty to ensure the new, 100 percent-online programs address the needs of professionals seeking career growth and further development.
"Our research found these are career areas with a strong demand for advanced degrees, while meeting market demand for highly skilled financial/accounting professionals and human resource managers," said Diane Anstine, dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship. "In addition, we wanted to be responsive to industry trends and to leverage technology for our online MBA."
As the business environment becomes more complex, employees become more valuable to their teams and companies through increased knowledge of emerging trends and issues.
"With input from members of the business community, we have tailored our courses to real-world conditions and challenges so that students can apply the classroom theories directly to their workplaces," added Anstine.
The new degrees will be available beginning fall 2019. Hallmarks of the three new degree programs can be viewed online.
