Northrop Grumman Advances Cyber Research with University of Colorado
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has provided $70,000 to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) to conduct research on cyber protection. Under the nine-month pilot program, the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science will explore and develop technology for enhancing data security and resiliency applicable to Defense Department networks.

UCCS was selected as a Northrop Grumman core university partner in January. The partnership is designed to bolster the workforce in the Colorado Springs area through an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, and to foster research and development vital to government and industry.

UCCS is one of three campuses in the University of Colorado system. With more than 11,000 students enrolled, the university is a minority-serving institution. The college offers undergraduate, graduate and doctorate programs in mechanical and aerospace engineering, computer science and electrical engineering.
