Northrop Grumman and Sandtown Habitat for Humanity Help Two Families Become New Homeowners

BALTIMORE, April 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing a partnership of building a community one home at a time, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) and Sandtown (Md.) Habitat for Humanity dedicated two new homes to the families of Daniel Smith and Brenda Eubanks.

During an April 20 dedication ceremony and open house for the homes, Constance Soloway, vice president of human resources for Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector, along with project leads Rob Siegel and Andrew Clark, presented Smith and Eubanks with the keys to their new homes.

More than 400 Northrop Grumman employees, their families and friends volunteered more than 3,500 hours during the past year working with Sandtown Habitat for Humanity. The homes mark the third and fourth houses sponsored by Northrop Grumman in the Sandtown-Winchester community. During the past six years, Northrop Grumman volunteers have dedicated many thousands of hours and the company has provided more than $190,000 in financial support for the Sandtown Habitat for Humanity effort.

Under the guidance of Sandtown Habitat for Humanity representatives, volunteers from Northrop Grumman and the families and friends of the future homeowners had worked on a variety of construction activities, including wood framing, roofing, drywall, flooring and painting, to complete the homes.

Sandtown Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing organization in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood of West Baltimore with the purpose of rebuilding the vacant housing in Sandtown, increasing homeownership and improving the health of the community.
