Northrop Grumman Honors Top Suppliers at Annual Awards Ceremony
REDONDO BEACH, Calif., April 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has honored 63 top-performing supplier companies from the United States, Canada and Switzerland at its annual supplier awards ceremony, held April 18 in Los Angeles.

The awards recognize suppliers for achieving distinction in product quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and robust, lean processes. The honored suppliers provide Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems with products ranging from aircraft parts and components to complex spacecraft electronic subsystems, as well as everyday services.
"These awards have names of companies on them, but it's the people at those suppliers whom we're recognizing for their dedication and commitment," said Lisa Kohl, sector vice president of global supply chain for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, which hosted the awards ceremony. Northrop Grumman presented awards in two categories: Platinum Source Preferred and Suppliers of the Year. Twenty-eight small businesses were honored, including five small disadvantaged owned businesses as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The Supplier of the Year program recognizes suppliers in seven categories: special recognition, non-production, research and development, subcontracts, small business, production operations and procurement. To be considered, a company must demonstrate consistently superior performance and quality in delivering products or services.
