Northrop Grumman Hosts Seventh Annual International CEESIM Users' Review Meeting in the United Kingdom

BUFFALO, N.Y., July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) recently held its seventh annual meeting for international users of its Combat Electromagnetic Environment Simulator (CEESIM) systems. The meeting was aimed at keeping users updated on system developments and identifying potential opportunities for improving system performance, product support and customer service.

More than 30 military and civilian personnel from the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Israel, New Zealand, Norway and Turkey attended the meeting, which was held in the U.K. last month. They were joined by executives from Northrop Grumman and a team of company specialists in all aspects of CEESIM engineering, product development and support.

The agenda included presentations related to electronic warfare from both military and industrial user perspectives, as well as a demonstration of complex emitter programming utilizing the company's environment generation and analysis software. Also discussed were product roadmap highlights, such as the new graphical user interface, and other new product developments, such as the latest generation of CEESIM digital hardware and low-cost radio frequency (RF) synthesis technology. Additionally, steps required in upgrading and enhancing existing CEESIM systems to provide increased reliability and maintainability were covered.

The Northrop Grumman CEESIM is an advanced technology simulator that generates complex dynamic electromagnetic environments to simulate true-to-war conditions. CEESIM provides angle-of-arrival radio frequency simulation techniques including phase, amplitude and time difference of arrival. The system includes an updated user interface that makes programming complex emitters more intuitive while allowing the operator to customize the interface to suit specific needs.

CEESIM is currently used to support a variety of international airborne, naval, missile and ground-based sensors/platforms including the Typhoon, Tornado, EuroHawk, F-35, NH-90, Tiger, P-3, F-15, Wedgetail, C-130 and A400M.
