Northrop Grumman, MVLE to Sign Defense Dept. Mentor Agreement

WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An agreement designed to help create jobs for persons with disabilities in the Washington Metropolitan area will be signed by Northrop Grumman and MVLE on Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at MVLE headquarters, 7420 Fullerton Rd., suite 110, Springfield, Va.

MVLE President April Keeler said the agreement is an exciting step by Northrop Grumman to assist MVLE, a nonprofit agency that provides jobs, training and support services for more than 650 persons with disabilities each year, in developing a stronger infrastructure and winning federal contracts.

The mentor/protege program works through the Defense Contract Management Agency and is aimed at building MVLE infrastructure and capacity to better serve the Defense Department as an approved vendor.  MVLE is the first and only nonprofit, AbilityOne agency to be accepted into this program.

MVLE is a nonprofit agency that provides employment, job training and support services for persons with disabilities, including wounded warriors.

Since 1992, Northrop Grumman has mentored approximately 100 small businesses, and currently has 20 active agreements.
