Northwood Investors LLC Announces Formation of Northwood Securities LLC

NEW YORK, July 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Northwood Investors LLC, a leading privately-held global real estate investment advisor and property management firm announced today the formation of an affiliate, Northwood Securities LLC, which will focus on global publicly-traded real estate securities. James E. Rehlaender, an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in real estate securities investment management, has been hired as Chief Executive Officer effective today.

Prior to joining Northwood Securities, Mr. Rehlaender was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager - International & Global Real Estate Securities at EII Capital Management in New York where he managed global public real estate portfolios, which included institutional separate accounts and mutual funds. Prior to that, Mr. Rehlaender founded Global Property Advisors, a global property securities investment manager, and later merged Global Property Advisors into EII Capital Management in 2000. He began his real estate career at La Salle Partners in Chicago and prior to that he was in the investment banking group at First National Bank of Chicago. He holds a B.A. degree from the College of William and Mary and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
