Novacap closes TMT V Fund at $840 Million

• Novacap raises Canada's largest private equity fund focused on the Technology, Media and Telecom ("TMT") sector
• The Fund will invest in TMT companies with revenues of $30 million to $300 million
• New fundraising brings the Firm's total capital raised to over $2.6 billion since inception, with current assets under management of $2.26 billion

MONTREAL, July 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - Novacap, one of Canada's leading private equity firms, today announced it has closed its latest private equity fund, NOVACAP TMT V (the ''Fund''), at its hard cap with total commitments of $840 million. The Fund surpassed its target size by 40 per cent, driven by strong demand from new and existing investors.

Investors in TMT V include public and corporate pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, family offices, and individual investors across Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.

The Fund will invest in a broad spectrum of technology and technology-enabled industries with a focus on software, business and financial services, internet infrastructure, e-commerce, and industry-specific technology solutions in the energy, healthcare and other vertical markets. The Firm expects to make equity investments ranging from $20 million to $100 million in order to support companies with organic growth initiatives and drive strategic acquisitions.

TMT V will be led by its partners Pascal Tremblay, Stéphane Tremblay, François Laflamme, Ted Mocarski, Étienne Veilleux and Yong Kwon, and supported by an investment team with extensive experience in the TMT sector.
