Nursing Leader Anna Alvarez of Florida Appointed as Senior Manager at Simione Healthcare Consultants to Support Operations and Quality Management
HAMDEN, Conn., Dec. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Simione Healthcare Consultants has appointed Anna M. Alvarez, RN, BSN, MSN as a senior manager in operations consulting, to support clinical activities to meet the needs of clients involved in quality management and operations improvement. A resident of Florida, Alvarez has more than 25 years of nursing and leadership experience in home care and hospice operations, consulting, rehabilitation management and acute care, including oversight of multi-site clinical operations and responsibilities ranging from quality and acquisitions to revenue cycle, cross-continuum program development, patient satisfaction and staff development.
Alvarez was previously the Southeast Regional Vice President for Clinical Operations at Kindred at Home, Louisville, Kentucky, where she led home health clinical operations for 62 branch locations with revenue responsibilities for more than $220 million. She also supported integration efforts for numerous acquisitions and led strategic initiatives for outcomes ratings, high-risk patient populations, centralized business functions, clinical staff development and accreditation survey preparation.
Between 2002-2014, Alavarez served as a senior consultant and regional director for home health and hospice at Health Dimensions Group, Minneapolis, MN; Chief Operating Officer at Staywell Home Health, Cincinnati, OH, and in roles in Lexington, Kentucky, including Home Health and DME Program Manager at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, and Spectrum Disease Management Coordinator for United Health Care. From 1979 to 2002 in Cincinnati, she served in staff nurse, case manager, home health and hospice leadership roles at Children's Hospital, Pediatric Home Care, the Christ Hospital and Health Alliance, and Mercy Home Health, gaining extensive direct care experience in neonatal nursing, pediatrics, home care and hospice.
A certified Six Sigma professional, Alvarez earned a master of science in nursing administration and policy and a bachelor of science in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana. She is also a graduate of Good Samaritan School of Nursing, Cincinnati.
