NY Giants' Justin Tuck To Host 3rd Annual Celebrity Billiards Tournament Presented by RXR

Master of Ceremonies, Anthony Anderson, hosts NY Giants, Knicks, Jets, and VIPs benefiting Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy

NEW YORK, April 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Thursday, June 2, 2011, New York Giants Super Bowl Champion and Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Tuck will host his 3rd Annual Tuck's Celebrity Billiards Tournament Presented by RXR. The celebrity-packed competition will feature 32 teams of athletes and celebrities vying for the title as part of an effort to support a fundraising initiative for the Pro Bowler's major charity platform, Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy.  The action will take place at Slate NYC, one of Manhattan's premier billiards clubs.

This exclusive event will bring together celebrities and VIPs to raise funds for Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy, an initiative started by Lauran and Justin Tuck to encourage children to READ, UNDERSTAND, SUCCEED and HOPE. The charity donates books and other reading materials to underserved children in the New York City and Central Alabama communities. To date, Tuck's initiatives have donated over 15,000 books and have raised over $800,000.

Among the celebrities who attended in 2010 were renowned actor Anthony Anderson, who served as Master of Ceremonies, Vivica A. Fox (Actress), Big Daddy Kane (Hip Hop Star), Buddy Valastro (Reality Star, Carlos Bakery), Charles Smith (retired NBA player), Chubb Rock (Hip Hop Star), Melle Mel (Hip Hop Star), Michael Smith (ESPN), Paul Sorvino (Actor), Damien Woody (NY Jets), Dave Diehl (NY Giants), Eli Manning (NY Giants), Hakeem Nicks (NY Giants), Jamal Anderson (retired NFL player), Ryan Grant (Green Bay Packers) and Shaun O'Hara (NY Giants) among others.

The tournament consists of 32 two-person teams pre-paired in a single elimination 8-ball challenge. The Tournament is managed by the American Poolplayers Association and referees oversee each match. After the final match, Tuck will present the winning team with a Grand Prize Luxury Package.
