NYC BAKERY RUN returns with ten stops and a seat inside Eleven Madison Park
More than 17,000 people entered the lottery for one of 100 spots when the NYC BAKERY RUN debuted last year. The free half marathon, organized by TIPSTER, returns October 25 with stops at Radio Bakery, La Cabra, Librae Bakery, From Lucie, and more—including a seated pastry course inside the three-Michelin-star Eleven Madison Park.
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The NYC BAKERY RUN is back, and this year's route leads straight into one of the city's most celebrated dining rooms.
On October 25, 100 runners will cover 13.1 miles while eating their way through New York's most sought-after croissants, cardamom buns, layer cakes, and more. Most stops will offer a quick bite before the group continues. At Eleven Madison Park, the stop comes with table service: runners will be escorted into the dining room and seated for a pastry course before regular lunch service begins.
"Welcoming runners into our dining room gives us an opportunity to share the work of our pastry team outside the traditional tasting-menu experience," says Dominique Roy, Chef de Cuisine at Eleven Madison Park.
Librae Bakery, one of the city's most closely followed bakeries, returns to the route this year.
"New York's appetite keeps pushing us to make things that feel entirely our own," says Dona Murad-Gerschel, owner of Librae Bakery. "The NYC BAKERY RUN puts ten different approaches to baking on one route and lets people experience the city through what is coming out of its ovens."
The 2026 lineup also introduces Altbau Bakery, the long-awaited project from Tartine cofounder Chad Robertson.
"Throughout history, people have gathered around the hearth to cook, bake bread, and feed the community," says Robertson. "Welcoming runners from across New York with something warm from the oven is our hello."
Radio Bakery, La Cabra, From Lucie, L'Appartement 4F, Hani's Bakery, Elbow Bread, and Saison Bakery complete the route.
The inaugural NYC BAKERY RUN demonstrated the scale of the appetite. More than 17,000 people entered its 2025 lottery for a spot. Rather than racing against one another, the 100 randomly selected runners moved together in three pace groups and stopped throughout the route to eat.
The event is organized by TIPSTER, a Copenhagen-born food guide with a growing presence in Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and New York.
For founder Simon Evers, the run reflects a broader shift in consumer interest: "Cultural relevance no longer only comes from securing a table at a fine-dining restaurant. Today's diners bring the same enthusiasm to a remarkable slice of pizza, bagel, loaf, or pastry—and people increasingly seek out singular experiences that cannot simply be booked."
"Doing the unexpected creates attention," Evers says. "The NYC BAKERY RUN is limited to 100 runners, but its purpose is much larger. We're directing thousands of people toward the bakeries raising the level across New York. The goal is to make people hungry for quality, curious enough to seek it out, and able to experience the city differently for a day."
Participation in the NYC BAKERY RUN is free. Runners will be selected by lottery, with spots awarded in pairs and divided among three pace groups.
Sign-ups are open now through October 14 at 11:59 p.m. ET at tipster.io/nyc/run. Winners will be notified on October 15, 2026.
