SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Nyotron, provider of the industry's first OS-Centric Positive Security solution to strengthen endpoint protection, today announced that the company's PARANOID solution was tested by ICSA Labs, a division of Verizon, and certified to meet Advanced Threat Defense (ATD) Criteria v.1.0 standards by detecting 100 percent of lesser known and unknown threats. Nyotron also announced it has joined the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization (AMTSO).
ICSA Labs ATD testing is designed to test a solution's ability to detect new and unknown threats that are typically missed by standard endpoint security solutions. According to the ICSA Labs report, "The Nyotron PARANOID platform detected 100.0% of the threats it encountered during testing, considerably better than the percentage required for certification."
"ICSA Labs has earned a reputation for its comprehensive security testing that is specifically focused on products' performance against unknown threats, and we are proud that PARANOID not only detected every new and unknown threat thrown at it; it did so with just one false positive," said Sagit Manor, CEO of Nyotron. "We are proving again and again that we are the best solution for preventing damage from unknown threats."
She added, "We're also excited to join the AMTSO to help develop the industry framework for anti-malware testing, especially for new types of products that work in a completely different way than traditional and next gen approaches. Businesses need a way to assess the efficacy of solutions leveraging OS-Centric Positive Security and other approaches that neither perform static file analysis nor contain predictive technologies like machine learning."
The AMTSO also compiles a Real Time Threat List (RTTL) that Nyotron and the 50+ other member companies will help manage, maintain and curate, giving the organization a leg up on new, developing threats.

Nyotron provides the industry's first OS-Centric Positive Security to strengthen laptop, desktop, and server protection. By mapping legitimate operating system behavior, Nyotron's PARANOID understands all the normative ways that may lead to damage, such as file deletion, data exfiltration, encryption, and more. Focusing on these finite "good" actions allows PARANOID to be completely agnostic to threats and attack vectors. PARANOID works seamlessly with antivirus and next-generation antivirus solutions to provide the last line of defense from modern state-level attacks. Nyotron (www.nyotron.com) is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA with an R&D office in Israel.
