SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TransLattice, the geographically distributed database company for enterprise, cloud and hybrid environments, today announced that the Oakland Raiders have selected its TransLattice Elastic Database (TED), a geographically distributed Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) developed to provide high availability, easy scalability and lower computing costs.
- The three-time World Champion Oakland Raiders follow a tradition of "Commitment to Excellence." As it looks to enhance the team's datacenter, the Raiders' IT department chose TED to assist the team in ensuring high availability of key systems' data for football operations.
- The Raiders partnered with local startup company TransLattice to assist the franchise in revamping its database operations. The organization chose TransLattice for TED's highly available, fault-tolerant database technology.
- TED is comprised of multiple nodes and is capable of being administered from anywhere on the network with zero downtime. Nodes can be virtual machines, private or public cloud instances, physical hardware or any combination thereof. The Raiders will initially utilize TED in its corporate and offsite datacenters.
- TED controls data location through simple-to-configure policies, thereby reducing the need for data federation and streamlining systems management.
Matthew Pasco, director of information technologies, Oakland Raiders said: "Our club is committed to incorporating the latest technology into our IT infrastructure. We are always enhancing our datacenter to meet the growing demand of critical data. We will look to the TransLattice Elastic Database to provide our football operations with high availability and performance, whether local or on the road."

TED assists organizations like the Oakland Raiders by providing very high data availability. We look forward to working with the Raiders' IT staff to improve operations for the entire franchise."
