GIBRALTAR, May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Odobo, the Developer Program for the regulated gambling industry, announces a new agreement with leading operator, Betfair. The deal will provide new premium device-interoperable HTML5 games to Betfair via the Odobo Marketplace.
Betfair is the second operator to join the Odobo Marketplace, opening a new distribution opportunity constituting almost a million active customers in more than 100 countries. As one of the largest online betting and gaming operators in the UK market, Betfair represents a significant milestone for Odobo and its development community.
In return, Betfair gains immediate access to the 23 games currently live in the Odobo Marketplace along with a set of exclusive games commissioned from Odobo's approved developers to coincide with the FIFA World Cup[TM]. Betfair can also expect more than 60 additional titles to be available before the end of 2014. More than 20 studios are currently developing this innovative content using Odobo's sophisticated suite of development tools that includes the Game Development Kit (GDK).
Julian Jarvis, Chief Business Affairs Officer at Odobo, said: "Odobo provides leading operators like Betfair with a powerful new way to engage with game developers and bring engaging new content to their players. We are delighted to have Betfair adopting our unique model - one that supports key stakeholders in the industry from game concept through to end user. This deal also represents a significant increase in the distribution opportunity we offer our approved developers."
Since launching with bet365 in Q4 2013, Odobo has piqued the interest of game developers worldwide by coupling a clear business opportunity with its multi-million pound bespoke technologies and services. Furthermore, the Odobo Developer Program enables a singularly fast and original route to develop and distribute games whilst minimising the challenges associated with understanding regulated markets. This ensures that developers are able to focus on the creative aspects of what makes a game great.
Betfair is expected to launch the first wave of games from the Odobo Marketplace in the coming weeks.
With concurrent integration projects underway, Odobo expects to announce further distribution opportunities via additional leading gaming operators soon.
About Odobo:
Odobo has developed and deployed the industry's first HTML5 Marketplace and Developer Program for the real-money gaming industry. The result is a modern, fully distributed and cloud-enabled solution devised by industry veterans specialising in mission-critical systems.
For operators
The Odobo Marketplace is an integrated "App Store" where the latest HTML5 games can be licensed from developers on the platform. A single integration provides access to the full Odobo content portfolio. All games are presented with profiles that contain promotional imagery, descriptions, screenshots, icons, commercial terms, territorial rights, languages, marketing assets, and exposure details. Like other app stores, deploying and configuring any game takes just a few clicks, with no downtime or assistance required from technical operations.
For developers
The Odobo Developer Program provides an opportunity for studios worldwide to get their games into regulated markets. The program specialises in recruiting, supporting, and assisting developers through their entire game production process. Developers are supported with an impressive array of state-of-the-art technologies and services that include: Game Development Kit (GDK), HTML5 development tools & environments, game engine creation & mathematical verification, compliance support, localisation screening and oversight, marketing & promotional bundling, in addition to business development with operators.
Odobo, based in Gibraltar, is licensed and regulated by the Gibraltar Gambling Commission. The company employs over 80 staff.
