MERRILLVILLE, Ind., April 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- White Lodging has promoted Christopher O'Donnell, Jr. to the position of Regional Director of Sales and Marketing – Select Service Division. In this position, O'Donnell will be responsible for 26 properties owned and/or managed by White Lodging in Chicago, Louisville and Indiana.
When commenting on his promotion, O'Donnell says his number-one priority is to drive market share results across the portfolio through proactive sales efforts and by enhancing the sales culture throughout the operation. "Chris brings a wealth of operational and sales experience to this position," said Gill Lapeire, White Lodging's Senior Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing. Joining White Lodging in 2007 as the General Manager for the Courtyard by in Farmington, Connecticut, O'Donnell distinguished himself by increasing market share and guest satisfaction survey results. After two years in this position, O'Donnell was appointed General Manager for the Courtyard by Marriott/Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Chandler, Arizona.
Instrumental in opening this 260-room cluster hotel, O'Donnell received an award from White Lodging recognizing his outstanding sales leadership during the pre-opening process. Under his direction, the Courtyard by Marriott achieved top six-percent in the brand for guest satisfaction and he was one of just 72 individuals named a member of the White Lodging President's Council.
O'Donnell started his career in the hospitality industry in 2003 where he worked for Marriott International as a Sales Manager for the Residence Inn by Marriott in Westborough, Massachusetts. From there he moved to the position of the company's Eastern Region Sales Specialist and ended his tenure with Marriott International as the General Manager of the Residence Inn in Hauppauge, New York.
