NEW YORK, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Ogilvy & Mather has appointed Gustavo Martinez to the newly created post of Global New Business Director. In addition, Mr. Martinez has been named Global Director of Global Brand Management (GBM). Ogilvy & Mather's GBM is a group of senior leaders who manage and grow the agency's portfolio of global clients around the world.
Mr. Martinez will be relocating from Mexico, where he is currently Chief Operating Officer of Ogilvy Latina, to the company's global headquarters in New York. He assumes his new roles on February 1, 2010.
Mr. Martinez's appointments underscore the agency's recognition of the critical importance of new business to its future and the new business potential of its current global clients.

A native of Argentina, but raised in Spain, Mr. Martinez joined Ogilvy in Buenos Aires in 2000. He has lived and worked in Canada, Switzerland, Portugal, Italy and Spain, where he earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the Universidad de Barcelona. He speaks fluent English, Italian, and Spanish.
