Ohio AAP Launches New Mobile App Resource for Parents
COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics in partnership with the Ohio Department of Health is proud to announce the new Parenting at Mealtime and Playtime (PMP) app, which can be found at www.PMP.OhioAAP.org. Developed in consultation with physicians, pediatric experts and dietitians, the app is designed to provide parents and caregivers easy access to trusted, age-appropriate advice outside of their doctor's office.
"As a mom of young children, I know how hungry parents can be for advice and information," said Melissa Wervey Arnold, CEO of Ohio AAP. "While it is important that parents talk to their pediatricians about questions and concerns during regular visits, the PMP app provides a wealth of information and resources that can help them through the daily work of parenting."
This visually appealing app is organized by age and includes:
- Nutrition and activity tips for children birth to age 5
- Interactive videos from parenting and nutrition experts on a range of hot topics
- Developmental milestones
- Text reminders about milestones and appointments
- A private profile page with access to free resources

"With easy-to-implement nutrition and activity tips, the PMP app will soon become a favorite for parents and caregivers across the state."
Parents and caregivers can access the app by visiting www.PMP.OhioAAP.org on their mobile phone or computer. They will be asked to register by entering an email address, child's birthday, gender, mobile number and zip code into a secure portal. Following registration, users will receive a login and password to customize their profile.
The Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (Ohio AAP) www.ohioaap.org promotes the health, safety and well-being of children and adolescents so they may reach their full potential.
