Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia Top the Chart for Cyber Monday Mobile Shopping

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers in Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Louisiana, and South Dakota know a good Cyber Monday deal when they see one. Retail's largest mobile commerce platform, Branding Brand, today released the results of its Mobile Commerce Index for Cyber Monday 2014, ranking these five locations as the highest-converting states for mobile shopping.

According to sales performance data for a sample of 35 North American retailers running on Branding Brand's platform, mobile devices (smartphone and tablets combined) produced a total of 2,280,988 visits, 80,707 orders, and $7,407,412 in revenue on Cyber Monday. In addition, mobile devices generated:*

• 47% of all online visits (63% iOS; 35% Android; 2% Other**)
  • 33% smartphones
  • 14% tablets
• 32% of all online orders (66% iOS; 32% Android; 2% Other)
  • 18% smartphones
  • 14% tablets
• 29% of all online revenue (75% iOS; 24% Android; 1% Other)
  • 14% smartphones
  • 15% tablets

*The above numbers do not include data from Branding Brand apps.
**Other includes Windows, BlackBerry, and other operating systems.

Compared to 2013, Branding Brand's Mobile Commerce Index showed the following year-over-year increases for the same 35 retailers:

• Mobile market share of all online visits increased 24%
• Mobile market share of all online orders increased 55%
• Mobile market share of all online revenue increased 71%
