Oil Painters of America Hosts its 26th National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils & Convention At Eisele Gallery of Fine Art in Cincinnati, Ohio

CINCINNATI, April 26, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Oil Painters of America (OPA) will hold its 26th National Juried Exhibition at Eisele Gallery of Fine Art from May 12 through June 24, 2017.
Artists, collectors and art enthusiasts will find an unparalleled collection of traditional oil paintings representative of the high quality of work being produced by the nationally and internationally acclaimed group of oil painters in this exhibition. An opening reception and award ceremony will be held for artists, collectors, the public and press on Friday, May 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Eisele Gallery. Renowned artist William Whitaker OPAM will serve as Juror of Awards.
Over the years, OPA's National Exhibition has garnered a reputation for being one of the premier art shows in the country receiving over 2,000 submissions each year for consideration. Of those entries, only two hundred twenty artists are selected to be part of this exhibition.
In addition to the exhibition the opening weekend convention events will include painting demonstrations by two-time Gold Medal winner, Johanna Harmon OPA; Master Ned Mueller; Joe Gyurcsak as well as this year's Juror of Awards William Whitaker OPAM. Of special note, the preeminent maritime artist John Stobart will be a special speaker during the convention.
Artists, art students and the public are invited to attend the many events taking place throughout the opening weekend including the wet paint competition, panel discussion and critique session. Events begin Wednesday, May 10 and run through Sunday, May 14th. OPA membership is not required; registration is recommended.
The exhibition will be on view from May 12 through June 24, 2017. Gallery viewing hours at Eisele Gallery, 5729 Dragon Way, Cincinnati, Ohio will be Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The gallery is closed on Sunday.
