Oklahoma land auction attracts strong field of bidders, results in sale for $2.46 million
GOLDSBY, Okla., June 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Thursday's auction of 520 acres of land in Central Oklahoma attracted a strong field of bidders and resulted in the sale of the land for $2,468,960. Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company conducted the auction of the land in McClain County, near Goldsby and Purcell.
"We had a capacity crowd, and bidding was intense. This was a very diverse group of bidders and buyers, reflecting the nature of the land itself. We had tillable land, pasture, wooded areas, ponds and building sites. By offering the land in 23 tracts, we enabled buyers to bid just on those tracts that met their needs. Every bidder purchased 100 acres or less, so it really was the day for those seeking tracts for specific interests," said Brent Wellings, who manages Schrader's Southwest operations.
By the end of the auction, 12 different bidders had successfully purchased land. Tracts ranged in size from six to 76 acres. Prices per acre ranged as high as $12,925.
The auction was the second successful event for Schrader in Oklahoma in recent weeks. Earlier in June, the company sold 588 acres that also appealed to different types of buyers, with grazing land, building sites and mineral interests.
