Old St. Pat's Rocks Three Decades of the World's Largest Block Party June 27 and 28

WHAT:  For 30 years, more than 400,000 people from 48 states have gathered at Old St. Pat's listening to great music and to enjoy the party with a purpose. To commemorate this year's celebration, a "Battle of the Bands" competition starts today!  The top two local bands with the most online votes will be given the honor of opening each night of the festival on the main stage. Old St. Pat's is hosting this online band competition at www.worldslargestblockparty.com.  A total of 9 Chicago area bands will be competing to be the opening acts for the World's Largest Block Party June 27 and 28 in Chicago's West Loop.  The two bands selected will each be compensated $1,500 for their appearance at the World's Largest Block Party.

Online voting competition begins April 28th at 10:00 am and ends May 2, 2014 at 11:59 P.M.

TICKETS: Tickets for the World's Largest Block Party will be available for purchase on May 19, 2014. $40 in advance,  $45 at the door and $75 for both nights.  Each ticket comes with four free drink tickets (beer, wine, pop or water.)  VIP tickets available.

HEADLINERS: We will be announcing headliners for the World's Largest Block Party in the coming weeks.  Past bands have included; Plain White T's, Life House, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, The Barenaked Ladies and many more.

WHY: Proceeds support Old St. Patrick's Church and the Center or Social Concerns on the Old St. Pat's Campus; which houses the following outreach programs: Horizons for Youth, Career Transitions Center and the Global Alliance for Africa.
