SAN FRANCISCO, July 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Olivia Travel, the world's largest travel company offering chartered cruise, resort, adventure and luxury vacations specifically for the lesbian community, has announced that internationally recognized humanitarian, Olga Murray, founder of Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF), will join Olivia's upcoming Thanksgiving Caribbean Cruise, November 23-30, 2014.

"The support our foundation has received from Olivia Travel and their clients has simply been astounding," said Olga Murray, founder of Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF). "Joining the upcoming Thanksgiving Caribbean Cruise feels like the merging of two families. I am so very grateful for their generosity and honored to be invited to participate in the holiday cruise."

After she retired from a career as an attorney for the California Supreme Court, Murray founded NYF in 1990 at the age of 65. In 2000, NYF launched a campaign to end the practice of Kamlari, a system of indentured servitude in which girls from desperately poor families are sold into domestic slavery. Since then, NYF has rescued over 12,000 girls and has provided them with educational opportunities, vocational training, and leadership opportunities.

"I first read of Olga's work over ten years ago and thought 'I need to get involved'," said Rachel Wahba, co-founder of Olivia Travel. "Since then, Olga and NYF have saved thousands of girls and 13,000 have been freed from the Kamlari system of child slavery and are now working to empower themselves. We are simply thrilled to play a role in helping to make sure this will never happen again."

Olivia launched its partnership with NYF in May 2014 and in one month raised just shy of $60K.

The Thanksgiving Caribbean Cruise will depart Tampa on November 23, and prior to the ship sailing, guests will enjoy an on board kickoff performance by ten-time Grammy Award winner, Bonnie Raitt. Throughout the seven-day cruise, guests will enjoy breathtaking stops in Cozumel, Mexico, Roatan, Honduras and San Gill Hill Natural Reserve in Guatemala, where they will explore freshwater pools, magical coral reefs and sparkling waterfalls. The fun will continue while at sea as celebrity chefs, Josie Smith-Malave and Tiffani Faison conduct cooking demonstrations for everyone to enjoy.
