Olshan Properties Welcomes Kenneth J. Marshall as Head of Retail

NEW YORK, Sept. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Olshan Properties, one of the country's leading private owners, developers and operators of commercial real estate, today announced that Kenneth J. Marshall has joined the firm as Head of Retail effective September 2016.

Based in Olshan Properties' Columbus office, Mr. Marshall will report directly to CEO Andrea Olshan working as a member of her executive team with responsibility for all retail assets.  In this newly created role, Mr. Marshall will focus on growing the highly diversified 10 million square foot retail portfolio through strategic acquisitions, as well as overseeing management of the portfolio's day-to-day operations.

With a career in retail real estate spanning almost a quarter of a century, Mr. Marshall comes to Olshan Properties most recently from retail REIT WP Glimcher (NYSE: WPG) where he served as Vice President of Development overseeing retail and office development projects for the company, including a vertically integrated mixed-use lifestyle center and a $25 million strategic mall renovation.  Prior to that, Mr. Marshall was Executive Vice President of Colonial Properties Trust's 11 million square foot commercial division, where he led asset management, leasing, operations, development and capital improvement spending.

Mr. Marshall holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with supplemental study in real estate. He is currently a registered architect in the state of Illinois and a regular contributor to International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) publications.  Mr. Marshall has also been a frequent speaker at ICSC sessions and panels, and has been a featured panelist at the Urban Land Institute's Retailing Program.
