O'Melveny Adds Jaroslaw C.K. Hawrylewicz To Capital Markets Practice In New York

NEW YORK, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- O'Melveny & Myers LLP announced today that Jaroslaw C.K. Hawrylewicz has joined the Firm as senior counsel in the New York office.  Hawrylewicz will be a member of O'Melveny's Capital Markets Practice.

Hawrylewicz most recently was Head of Equity Derivatives & Synthetics Legal Group at Barclays Capital where he was the leader of a team of lawyers dedicated to covering businesses with equity derivatives or synthetic products.  He also was involved in all transactional and policy aspects within his assigned areas including: structuring, advising on, and negotiating transactions; development of new products, guidelines, and procedures; and development of firmwide policies involving securities laws and derivatives concepts.  As a member of various industry and regulatory reform organizations such as the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Financial Services Roundtable, Lawyer's Council, and a number of informal dealer groups, Hawrylewicz has been involved in numerous industry efforts related to key legislative and regulatory initiatives including Title VII and other matters related to the Dodd-Frank Act.

Prior to joining Barclays Capital, Hawrylewicz held the title of Senior Vice-President at Lehman Brothers, as the senior attorney primarily responsible for its corporate and private client equity derivatives businesses.  He began his legal career as an associate at an international law firm based in New York.  Hawrylewicz received his B.S., with distinction, from University of Toronto.  He completed a joint MBA/LLB program at Osgoode Hall Law School and Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, where he received the Harry Rose Award and Union Carbide Award.  Hawrylewicz is also a CFA charterholder and holds the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.
