Omnissa announces AI innovations that help IT shift to an increasingly autonomous workspace with greater visibility and control

AI-ready workspaces, agents for IT operations and an AI governance solution give IT teams a strong foundation for getting more value from their AI investments

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnissa^®, the platform leader for governing digital work, today announced new AI innovations at Omnissa ONE 2026 that accelerate the shift toward an increasingly autonomous workspace with greater visibility and control. The announcements expand AI-ready workspaces for people and AI, bring greater autonomy to IT operations, and introduce new governance capabilities to give organizations greater control over applications, agents and high-impact digital work actions.

Employees are now adopting AI tools faster than many organizations can approve them, and agents are beginning to take actions across enterprise systems. The Omnissa State of the Digital Workspace report found that AI assistant usage across enterprise endpoints increased nearly 1,000% year over year, with three-quarters of it coming from unsanctioned tools and landing on what is typically a fragmented IT environment. As AI activity grows, so do the blind spots for IT teams who must manage not only who and what has access, but what actions AI can take.

Expanding AI-ready workspaces for people and agents
As AI becomes a greater part of digital work, IT teams need secure environments where people and AI agents can work together while IT maintains control. New capabilities across Horizon support AI workloads and give IT more options for running these within already managed infrastructures while optimizing return on investment. These include:

• Omnissa Cloud PC: This turnkey cloud PC service includes underlying compute along with  Omnissa's industry-leading unified endpoint management, digital employee experience and Horizon Cloud DaaS services in a single offering operated by Omnissa, simplifying the complex task of delivering desktops as a service. Omnissa Cloud PC will initially run on AWS, with additional hyperscaler options planned.
• Horizon Delegate: Omnissa also introduced a new agent for Horizon virtual desktop users that runs inside their Horizon virtual machine and can perform tasks on the user's behalf using approved identity and permissions. Like a co-pilot, the Delegate agent can continue working even when the user is not actively connected to the virtual session, operating with the same entitlements, security and controls of the user within the Horizon environment.

Advancing autonomous endpoint management with agents for IT
Managing increasingly complex and autonomous IT environments requires the ability to take immediate action when issues arise, not just identify them. Omnissa is advancing autonomous endpoint management (AEM) by bringing endpoint management, security and digital employee experience together on its platform to turn insights and intent into proactive actions.

Omnissa announced three new agents for IT to help accelerate critical work across the digital workspace:

• Digital Employee Experience (DEX) agent: Troubleshooting support from the DEX agent helps IT investigate an employee experience issue, identify root cause and use existing playbooks or prior Workspace ONE Assist session history to recommend a resolution, reducing disruption for employees.
• Workspace ONE Vulnerability Defense agent: With the Omnissa ONE Vulnerability Defense agent, IT teams can run the agent to autonomously review and prioritize vulnerabilities, prepare patching actions and approve deployment, with human-in-the-loop guardrails. DEX visibility helps teams understand how the rollout is progressing and whether users are affected. With LLMs speeding vulnerability detection and time to exploit vulnerabilities now less than a day, the agent enables IT teams to patch at AI speed and scale and stay ahead of growing patch backlogs.
• Windows App Lifecycle agent: Packaging and maintaining Windows applications often requires significant manual work from IT teams. The agent can package and test an application before presenting the result to an administrator for review. This reduces manual effort and frees IT teams to focus on more strategic work.

Omnissa also announced the hosted Omnissa MCP Server, which allows administrators to use the agentic tool of their choice to securely interact with services across the Omnissa platform. The services available to the agent are based on the administrator's existing role and access permissions.

These capabilities build on a platform that already processes approximately 50 TB of endpoint data each day and supports 150 million workflow executions per month across tens of millions of endpoints. That foundation gives IT the context and automation they need to move from simply identifying an issue to taking an action. Moving from insight to action is core to Omnissa's endpoint management strategy, and the company ranked highest across all four Use Cases in the 2026 Gartner^® Critical Capabilities for Endpoint Management Tools report, including Autonomous Endpoint Management.

Governing digital work actions and the impact of AI
As AI applications and agents take on more work, IT needs to govern the access and actions taking place in order to mitigate unintended consequences and trust the outcomes of autonomy. Omnissa introduced Omnissa Elara, a new solution designed to be the authority layer for AI governance and high-impact enterprise actions.

By connecting signals across systems that often operate independently, Elara gives IT and security leaders greater context into how their current digital work investments, AI apps, models and agents are being used across their environment. That context helps organizations apply policies and controls based on broader business conditions before high-impact actions occur.
