One Click at a Time: Sears Auto Center and Heroes at Home™ Call Upon America to Support Military Families

 

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Dec. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears Auto Center is calling upon all Americans to do their part and click to support American military personnel and their families. Now through Dec. 31, Sears Auto Center will donate one dollar (up to $10,000) to Rebuilding Together, Inc. for every new 'Like' at www.Facebook.com/SearsAuto.

Heroes at Home is a program Sears Holdings created in collaboration with Rebuilding Together in response to an urgent need to assist active duty military, veterans and military families with life changing home rehabilitation and modifications to provide safety, comfort and accessibility to those in need.

By providing necessary repairs or adaptations to homes, Sears Holdings strives to improve the lives of military families across America. Heroes at Home is one of the many initiatives through which Sears Holdings acknowledges the sacrifice made by U.S. troops every day in the line of duty, while supporting and honoring those heroes who remain at home.

Nominate a Veteran or US Military Member for the Exploring My America's Heroes at Homeä 'Dream Vacation' Contest

Starting mid-Dec., visit exploringmyamerica.com to nominate a veteran or member of the U.S. military who you think deserves a dream vacation as appreciation for their service. Just submit an essay telling Sears Auto Center where you'd like to take the veteran or member of the U.S. military and what the trip would mean to them.

Two lucky teams will each receive $3,500 in travel funds for food, gas, lodging and other expenses. Prior to departure, each team will receive a 21-point inspection from the Sears Blue Automotive Crew and much-needed products like tires from Cooper Tire, and services from DieHard and other Sears Auto Center partners. They will also receive $500 in Sears Auto Center store credit for any last-minute tune-ups.

The two winning teams will record their travels via video camcorder and compete for the grand prize – a $750 American Express gift card and a one-year complimentary maintenance at Sears Auto that includes up to 5 no charge conventional oil changes, tire rotations and multi-point inspections.
