INDIANAPOLIS, April 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- OneJet today announced that it will expand its network of nonstop air travel service with the addition of two routes beginning in May: Nonstop service from Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) to Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is scheduled to begin May 4th and nonstop service from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to Pittsburgh is set to begin May 11th. The new flights follow OneJet's April 6th commencement of service between Milwaukee and Indianapolis.
"We're excited to announce nonstop service between these three great cities," said Matt Maguire, OneJet president and chief executive officer. "The market for regional nonstop travel is strong and we've put together a great new service to respond to that demand. Our goal is to provide our customers with a familiar air travel experience but in a way that lets us allocate our assets dynamically in response to demand. The combination means more choice for travelers to and from Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh and, ultimately, throughout the eastern U.S."
"As someone who's seen firsthand how air travel has been revolutionized by technology, it is wonderful to see this sort of advancement in customer convenience," said Terry Jones, founder of Travelocity and a senior advisor to OneJet. "OneJet's ability to economically provide nonstop service to regional markets through the use of smart demand management software and 'right sized' aircraft is a big step forward in air travel."
"Today's announcement is the next step in a multi-year, national initiative to introduce demand-responsive air transportation networks within the eastern U.S.," said John Porcari, former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Transportation and a senior advisor to OneJet. "As OneJet service is introduced, communities such as Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh will continue to see increased nonstop service and improved regional travel options, easily accessible via existing points of sale. This is truly an exciting day as we announce our expansion to Pittsburgh. "
