OpenAssets Launches Sentinel, an AI-Enabled OpenCompliance Platform Modernizing Financial Market Rails
Sentinel is the evidence layer for tokenized markets, turning written obligations into machine-readable controls and continuous, portable proof
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- OpenAssets, a leading digital asset infrastructure provider, today announced Sentinel, an AI-enabled OpenCompliance platform for institutions modernizing financial market infrastructure.
Financial market infrastructure is being rebuilt around tokenized securities, regulated stablecoins, and continuous settlement, and the compliance obligations that come with those rails are continuous as well. Most compliance work today still produces a folder of screenshots and spreadsheets assembled after the fact. Sentinel is built to bind obligations to controls as they're written, prove the state of a control at any point in time, and export that proof on demand, so audit and diligence responses become queries against a running record rather than a project.
A model is designed to propose how an obligation binds to a control and the evidence that would satisfy it, with a named person reviewing and deciding, and every inference logged beside the human action it informed. Every control is designed to produce an append-only audit log entry the moment it's satisfied, and OpenAssets is publishing the control mapping schema Sentinel runs on, so counterparties, auditors, and vendors can verify coverage and exchange evidence without the manual, repeated back-and-forth that compliance diligence usually requires.
- Verifiable proof. Coverage is exportable by framework and period on demand, rather than assembled as a one-time project ahead of a scheduled review.
- Built for how tokenized markets already work. Sentinel is designed around the identifiers and messaging standards institutions already rely on, including ISO 20022, DTI, ISIN, IVMS101, and ERC-3643, so compliance evidence connects to the infrastructure counterparties already use rather than requiring a separate translation layer.
- A record that cannot be changed. Every action is written once and cannot be edited or deleted afterward, by anyone, including an administrator. Sentinel lets auditors, regulators, and counterparties confirm the record is unchanged without being given direct access to the system.
"Compliance on tokenized markets breaks down for one reason: proof doesn't travel," said Surendra Kalidindi, COO & CTO of OpenAssets. "Informed by our own experience as a registered Transfer Agent, we built Sentinel to bind obligations to controls as they're written and produce proof any counterparty can check, not a screenshot they have to take our word for. A model proposes, a person decides, and the record can't be changed after the fact. That is what audit-ready should mean for tokenized markets."
