OpenGov Expands Into Recreation Management, Building on Work With More Than 400 Parks and Recreation Agencies

The new offering will connect recreation programs and facilities with the assets and operations that support them

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- (NRPA Annual Conference 2026) -- OpenGov, the company powering the AI platform for local and state government, today announced its expansion into Recreation Management, building on its work with more than 400 parks and recreation agencies using OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management.

The new offering is being developed with parks and recreation professionals to connect programs, facilities, activities, and community services with the physical assets and maintenance work that support them.

Built with Parks and Recreation Teams

OpenGov is working directly with parks and recreation professionals to shape capabilities and validate workflows ahead of the launch.

Facility reservations are planned as the first capability, helping residents discover facilities, view availability, and reserve spaces such as shelters, fields, and courts. Future phases are expected to support program registration, memberships, leagues, point-of-sale transactions, and related workflows. These capabilities are planned for availability by the end of 2026.

Recreation Management will be available as a standalone offering in the AI-powered OpenGov Public Service Platform. Agencies pairing it with Enterprise Asset Management will be able to connect reservations with asset records, inspections, maintenance schedules, and field work, providing a more complete view of facilities and operations without duplicating information across systems.
